Submit your film to OFFSpring 2027
OFFSpring – Odense International Film Festival is a festival dedicated to emerging filmmakers in Danish and International cinema – with a special focus on Danish debutants. In early spring, we present a wide selection of events, guests, and films by today’s most promising directors.
Films that show courage, stir curiosity and allow for new perspectives on film as an artform. Presented in an inventive programme that also features talks, debates and events for the public and film professionals alike.
OFFSpring is dedicated to debut and sophomore directors. We invite filmmakers from Denmark, Greenland, The Faroe Islands, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland to submit their films for our two competetions:
The OFFSpring Award
The festival’s main competition for brave, agenda-setting and cinematically ambitious debut and sophomore films from the Nordics. All films in this section compete for the OFFSpring Award and a price of 50.000 DKK.
The Debutant Award
The festival’s competition for distinct, original and compelling films by Danish first-time filmmakers. All Danish debut films selected for the festival are eligible for the Debutant Award and a price of 25.000 DKK.

Rules and terms
The film must be directed by a debut or sophomore filmmaker.
The film must be a fiction feature film.
The film must have a runtime of at least 60 minutes.
The film must be completed between January 1st 2026 – February 1st 2027.
The film’s primary producing country must be either Denmark, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Sweden, Norway, Finland or Iceland.
There are no requirements to the premiere status of the film (however it can affect which festival section the film is placed in).
We require a picture lock for all submitted films. Unfinished sound mix, color correction, visual effects, etc. will be allowed.
We do not offer a screening fee for films in competition.
We expect all filmmakers to have cleared the necessary rights for the films they submit. OFFSpring can not be held accountable for any possible disputes between the filmmakers and third parties.
Submit your film
All films must be submitted via FilmFreeway no later than 15.11.2026 at 23:59.
All submitted films will receive notice regarding selection status no later than 18.12.2026.
